YOUR GOOD NEIGHBOR

Northmont FISH opened its doors for service in October 1973 under the leadership of Polly Weiland and Anita Rankin.  For years they coordinated volunteers across the community. Each volunteer taking a different day in the month and meeting the needs from whatever call came in that day.

In the late 90’s director, Candy Gauldin, stepped in and began leading FISH to what many know it as today.  It was a small operation at the beginning of Candy’s tenure but she had hopes of what FISH could do for the community and worked hard to promote our services and set folks up for what they needed. Candy retired as director from FISH in early 2021 after more than 25 years in full-time volunteer service to the Northmont Community. Later that year in November 2021, Northmont FISH welcomed Emily Eck as the current director.

Today we operate out of the facilities at our 265 Smith Drive campus.  Our buildings are a gift for use by a very generous donor.  In the spring of 2021, Northmont FISH came under the ministry umbrella of Salem Church of God.  However, FISH continues to serve as its own 501(c)(3).

Predominantly offering clothing and food assistance, the goal is to expand FISH to more corners of the community and hopefully someday help facilitate other needs.

Emily Eck

Emily came to FISH after several years working in a local school system. From her experiences in the school and in the community, a passion was born for facilitating sustenance in practical, accessible ways to those most in need. Loving people the way Jesus did, meeting the physical need to walk with others as their spirits are tended to and mended by a very good Father. In her other time, Emily enjoys cooking, sports and reading.
